DermaQuest Skin Resurfacing at Call of Beauty.

To achieve optimal results from your Dermaquest Skin Resurfacing Treatments the skin needs to be balanced or prepared. This will speed up the healing process and reduce any adverse effects such as heavy peeling or scabbing. By preparing the skin we begin to introduce specialist Dermaquest ingredients used during your facials and begin to remove any dead surface cells before the treatment so that absorption rates and affects are increased giving a better, more consistent result.

 

The skin responds to its environment and the care we give it, so a full consultation is given before we start any Dermaquest Skin Resurfacing Treatments and preparation advice will then be given. We will assess what your skin needs and the best way to treat your concerns and a Dermaquest homecare regime will be given to you to be started 2-4 weeks before your first Skin Resurfacing Treatment.

 

 

What to expect after your Dermaquest Skin Resurfacing Treatment…

 

Dermaquest Peels are not Physician Level Peels, this means that your skin is not going to become black and unsightly, however you will experience some flaking and peeling. Immediately following your Dermaquest facial the skin may appear red or flushed. On the second day peeling may begin around the mouth, chin and cheeks with the forehead being the last area to peel, which usually takes between 2 to 7 days after your Treatment. It is important to understand this peeling process and not to pick or pull at loose skin cells as this could lead to infection, scarring or pigmentation. It is very important during the healing process that the skin must be kept hydrated and protected from sun damage.

Which Dermaquest Skin Resurfacing Treatment to have….

 

There are many different Alpha Hydroxy Acids to choose from and your Dermaquest Specialist will advice you as to which treatment will be best for your skin type and concerns. Here is a few of the available options…

 

 

 

Pumpkin Pulp-

Pumpkin Pulp is used during a Primary or Power Pumpkin Resurfacing Treatment. This combines the properties and powers of Lactic Acid, Salicylic Acid and Glycolic Acid with the added bonus of Pumpkin Pulp packed full of Vitamin C to deliver fantastic results.

 

Salicylic Acid-

Is found naturally in Wintergreen and Sweet Birch leaves, this deeply cleanses by the removal of dirt, debris and oil from inside the follicles as well as on the surface of the skin. It also reduces breakouts, blackheads and clogged pores and reducing any inflammation.

 

Glycolic Acid-

Originally derived from Sugar Cane this AHA has the ability to penetrate much deeper than other AHAs allowing it to treat the Dermis as well as the Epidermis. Glycolic Acid increases cellular turnover, decreasing fine lines and wrinkles and evening the skins tone and texture. There is also anti-inflammatory and soothing properties with extra benefits of reduced pigmentation and assistance with the release of blackheads.

 

Lactic Acid-

This AHA occurs naturally in sour milk and one of the more gently AHAs used making it perfect for first timers or anyone with sensitive skin. Lactic Acid is excellent for skin hydration, increasing cellular renewal, blackhead release and lightening pigmentation whilst stimulating the production of collagen and elastin to decrease fine lines and wrinkles.
