REIKI  What is it?

Reiki is a name given to the natural holistic therapy, which is over 2500 years old, it is believed that the technique is originally from the Mu people, passed to the Tibetan Monks and  was rediscovered in the 1800’s by Mikao Usui. The words Rei and Ki is thought to have originated from  Raku- Kei and are from the Japanese language.

Raku is the vertical energy flow
Rei the horizontal energy flow through the body.

As a holistic therapy, anyone can receive Reiki, it doesn't belong to any belief system, and is administered by “laying on hands” and is based on the idea that life energy flows through us. When we are low or unwell areas of our energy are blocked Reiki can help to heal those blocked areas of imbalance helping our energy to flow more freely again, restoring a sense of well being.

The practitioner is a channel through which energy is drawn , by the need or the imbalance of the recipient. Reiki flows to the areas of need, dispelling blocked and negative areas, supporting the body’s natural ability to heal its self.

To receive Reiki you simply lay on a couch and relax, if the recipient is unable to lay then Reiki can be given in a sitting position,  the main thing is that you are comfortable and relaxed.

There is no need to remove clothing, the practitioner gently places their hands non-intrusively in a sequence of positions which covers the whole body. Reiki will flow to the areas of need, the whole body is treated rather than one symptom.

Reiki has no religion and you do not have to believe in anything to receive the treatment.

One session takes approximately one hour, and cost £30.
